The Indianapolis Colts’ team plane waits for no man. Especially not backup offensive lineman Xavier Nixon.

In a bizarre sequence of events, Nixon has been ruled out for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots after he missed the team’s flight to New England on Saturday. Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star first reported the news.

Nixon, who signed with Indy in 2013 after a brief stint on the Washington Redskins’ practice squad, made four appearances for the Colts this season, with one start at right tackle.

Colts running back Trent Richardson also didn’t make the trip east, albeit of his own volition. Richardson elected not travel with the team because of “personal reasons.” On the bright side, at least both players will have someone to watch the game with Sunday.
