If there’s a big football game going on, you can be sure a couple of elected officials are engaging in some sort of friendly wager.

Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker and Indiana governor Mike Pence did not disappoint this week, both betting their favorite in-state snacks that their home teams would be victorious in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

If the Patriots lose, Baker promised to send Boston Creme Pie cupcakes from Koffee Kup Bakery in Springfield, Mass. But if the Patriots win, Pence will have to ship Baker some shredded pork from Shoup’s Country Foods in Frankfort, Indiana.

Not that Patriots fans should feel overconfident or anything, but let’s just say we hope Pence doesn’t have a sweet tooth.
