The Minnesota Wild have done a lot of losing lately, so it was head coach Mike Yeo’s turn to lose it during Wednesday’s practice.

According to Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Yeo stopped practice on two separate occasions, but when he halted things for the second time, he really went off on his team. The Wild have dropped eight of their last 10 games, and Yeo was less than impressed with the effort he saw from his group.

Graff reports Yeo dropped “30 expletives in 90 seconds,” as he laid into the team with a pretty spectacular tirade about its poor play of late. After Yeo wrapped up his profanity-laced rant, he skated toward the bench and snapped his stick in half before leaving practice early.

Yeo didn’t elaborate too much on his meltdown after practice.

“We weren’t good enough,” the coach said, per the Pioneer Press. “And we’re not in a position where we can come in and be, let alone decent in practice, bad at practice. I’m not going to accept that.”

The Wild will play the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night, when it’ll be clear if Yeo’s strong message was received or not.
