Finally, the day to crown a new college football champion has arrived.

Oregon and Ohio State will make history Monday night when they square off in the national championship, the first under the new College Football Playoff system. If the two semifinal games were any indication, it has the makings to be an instant classic.

Las Vegas likes the Ducks as a touchdown favorite, but former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn sees things a little differently. The former Notre Dame signal-caller broke down the matchup on FootballByFootball.com, and he sees Ohio State with a slight edge.

One big factor, Quinn believes, could end up being conditioning.

“Conditioning of Ohio State athletes will not be a factor as Oregon has wore down its opponents,” Quinn writes. “But it will be the mental conditioning that makes the difference in this game, which is why I believe Marotti gives the Buckeyes the edge for a national championship.”
