Rob Konrad Describes Nine-Mile Swim To Shore: ‘I Shouldn’t Be Here’

The Rob Konrad story is something out of a movie.

On Monday, the former Miami Dolphins fullback spoke publicly for the first time since his incredible nine-mile swim to shore after he fell out of his fishing boat off the coast of Florida last Wednesday.

The 38-year-old fought back tears as he recalled his harrowing 16-hour journey through shark-infested waters while rescue crews circled above him, but were unable to locate him. NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington has more from Konrad’s news conference:

Konrad’s wife also spoke to the media, telling reporters “it was a miracle that he made it home.”
