Tom Brady and Joe Montana tend to pop up in the same sentence quite often.

Brady set a new NFL record Saturday by throwing his 46th career playoff passing touchdown in the New England Patriots’ 35-31 win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC divisional round at Gillette Stadium. Montana previously held the record with 45.

Brady passed Montana on a 23-yard TD toss to Brandon LaFell in the fourth quarter that gave the Patriots their first lead of the game.

Brady also set an NFL record Saturday for the most career passing yards in playoff history. He surpassed Peyton Manning, though Manning will have a chance to regain the top spot Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
