The Winter Classic is all about aesthetics, and things were no different Thursday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

The Washington Capitals hosted the Chicago Blackhawks at sun-soaked Nationals Park, and fans were treated to one of the best games of the NHL season thus far.

The NHL always is looking for new ways to present its product, and the league’s referee cam experiment continued for the annual outdoor game. The results, as you might imagine, were pretty breathtaking.

Easily the best moment is toward the end of the video, as Troy Brouwer’s game-winning goal plays out right in front of us. That also includes superstar Alexander Ovechkin lobbying for a call before Brouwer fired in the game-winner in the final seconds of the third period.
