At 32 years old, Amar’e Stoudemire has gone through plenty of grueling interviews in his day. This was not one of them.

As you might recall, the New York Knicks forward made waves in October when he posted a photo of him bathing in red wine. No, not drinking red wine. Literally taking a bath in it.

That’s a rather strange habit, so ESPN’s Sam Alipour decided to get straight to the source in a one-on-one interview with Stoudemire. Let’s just say he got a little more than he bargained for.

Much credit, of course, has to go to Alipour, who voluntarily entered a tub of gurgling red wine with a 6-foot-10 professional basketball player.

Other than that, we don’t learn too much else about Stoudemire’s bizarre habit, besides the fact that his friend told him about it, and it felt good when he tried it, so he kept doing it. Good stuff.

Unfortunately for Stoudemire, the Knicks still own one of the NBA’s worst records at 10-43 through Thursday, and not even a bath in pure gold will change that.
