Chelsea struggled to park the bus before it even was time to, wait for it … park the bus.

The Chelsea bus crash took place hours before the Blues’ UEFA Champions League round of 16 game against hosts Paris Saint-Germain. Chelsea bus hit a wall inside the stadium, causing damage to the vehicle but no injuries to passengers. Chelsea-PSG kicked off as scheduled.

Chelsea’s visit to Paris comes just three days after PSG aimed a tounge-in-cheek Tweet at the Premier League leader. PSG accused Chelsea of using overly defensive tactics, or “parking the bus” (in front of its goal) in last season’s Champions League meetings between the teams.

PSG’s tweet back-fired as it conceded two late goals and against Caen in Ligue 1 (French first division) and had to settle for a draw.

But Chelsea’s mishap preserves the life of the joke, which keeps on giving.
