David Ortiz’s fun in the sun — at least away from the ballpark — is done.

The Boston Red Sox designated hitter is expected to make his first appearance at spring training in Fort Myers, Fla., later this week. He announced as much in this tweet sent out Tuesday morning as Big Papi enjoys the final bit of his vacation.

Ortiz and the Red Sox are hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 2014 season. Boston’s last-place finish wasn’t much of Ortiz’s fault, as the slugger enjoyed one of his best seasons in recent memory. Ortiz hit .263 with 35 home runs and 104 RBIs to go along with an .873 OPS in 142 games for the Sox.
