Julian Edelman To Seth Meyers: I Was In Bill Belichick’s Doghouse For Six Years

Julian Edelman’s debut appearance on a late night talk show began with some tension.

The New England Patriots wide receiver had to call out “Late Night” host and New Hampshire native Seth Meyers for being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Edelman tried to sway Meyers to Patriot Nation by offering him a “Supertron” T-shirt, but it didn’t appear to work.

Meyers asked about Edelman’s divisional-round touchdown pass, and the Patriots receiver offered some interesting back story. Edelman said he actually overthrew fellow receiver Danny Amendola in the Patriots’ walk-though before the playoff game. He also said it took him six years to get out of head coach Bill Belichick’s doghouse after fumbling a snap in his rookie season. That’s why it took Belichick so long to let Edelman go back to his quarterback roots.
