Judging by how Samir Nasri views Chelsea, it’s safe to say the Premier League title race now is red hot.

Nasri blasted Chelsea on Thursday, calling the current Premier League leader unimpressive and backing his club, Manchester City, to battle the Blues for domestic supremacy until the end of season, the Telegraph reports. Nasri also called out Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for building a physically powerful, but not-so-stylish, team.

“I’m a big fan of Mourinho, but I am not impressed with his team, not at all,” Nasri said. “When I have seen some of their games, I don’t think they are that fantastic. They are just strong, and have a good striker (Diego Costa) up front.

“For me they are not special at all, and I think they are going to make some mistakes. We have played them twice, one time with 10 men, and we were better than them. Then we played them at Stamford Bridge, and we were better than them.

“We just have to perform, to win our games, and see what’s going to happen. This title will be like this until the end of the season. No one will win the league 10 games before the end of the season.”

Chelsea leads second-place Manchester City by seven points after 25 games. There still are 39 points up for grabs, and Nasri’s broad-side took the on-field battle off it.

Mourinho has criticized Manchester City in recent weeks for its apparent violation of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules. While Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hasn’t responded to Mourinho’s jibes, Nasri went on the offensive on his side’s behalf.
