Even when they’re out of the NCAA Tournament, Georgia State still finds a way to be the greatest part of March Madness.

Head coach Ron Hunter became something of a national treasure after he tore his Achilles celebrating his team’s tournament berth only to then fall off his rolling stool when his son R.J. hit a game-winning 3-pointer to upset No.3 Baylor just a few short days later. Hunter’s cool factor continued to rise after the big victory when he called out President Obama for not picking them in his bracket.

But the Panthers’ Cinderella run came to an end Saturday night, as the No. 14 seed fell to Xavier in the Round of 32. Hunter exited the tournament the same way he and his team entered it though — in impressive and heartwarming fashion — giving a tearful postgame speech about how meaningful the last 72 hours were to him.

“I told them not to be sad. What a great week, unbelievable week. There’s nothing to be sad about, especially for me,” Hunter said. “I’ll be honest with you, the greatest week of my life, the greatest time I’ve ever had to be a father, doing this with Kevin Ware and the rest of this team, I don’t want these guys to be sad.”
