Kentucky’s Devin Booker Makes WVU Look Even Sillier After Blowout Win

So, maybe it’s not the best idea in the world to trash-talk Kentucky.

The University of West Virginia’s men’s basketball team learned this lesson the hard way Thursday night, as it was demolished by the top-seeded Wildcats 78-39. The Mountaineers couldn’t have been feeling too good after that beatdown, but it was a different story prior to the Sweet 16 matchup.

On Wednesday, freshman guard Daxter Miles guaranteed a win over UK, boldly claiming his team would be responsible for handing John Calipari’s squad their first loss of the season.

“Salute them to getting to 36-0,” Miles said. “But (Thursday) they’re gonna be 36-1.”

Needless to say, things didn’t go according to Miles’ plan. The Wildcats absolutely dominated on the court and on the ol’ Twitter machine after the huge victory, as Kentucky freshman Devin Booker fired back at the brash prediction.

Some of Booker’s teammates also got in on the fun.

Notre Dame will take on the Wildcats in the Elite Eight on Saturday. Until then, the Fighting Irish might want to stay quiet.
