LeBron James Doesn’t Mind ‘Lending’ Cavs Scoring Record To Kyrie Irving

Believe it or not, LeBron James doesn’t own every Cleveland Cavaliers franchise record.

Kyrie Irving made sure of that Thursday night, scoring 57 points in a win over the San Antonio Spurs, breaking James’ single-game Cavs points record. James scored 56 points in a 2005 game against the Toronto Raptors.

LeBron was asked about Kyrie’s special effort after the game and whether he plans to take the crown back from his point guard. He gave a very LeBron answer.

What a guy.

James actually owns 25 Cavs records, per Basketball Reference, but we won’t stroke his ego with that stat. You can bet LeBron would love to make that 26 and earn his scoring record back, but he let Irving have his moment by giving him an Instagram tribute Thursday night.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Kyrie.
