Bill Belichick will have to remain disappointed in the NFL for now.

The league announced they have tabled Belichick’s proposal to add cameras to all boundary lines for further research, though they didn’t outright refect it. The NFL previously blamed cost on turning down the New England Patriots head coach’s proposal.

Belichick said Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting that it’s “disappointing” that the league cannot afford the additional cameras, which would provide angles that networks do not provide for play challenges.

Belichick also spoke out against the league at last year’s NFL Annual Meeting.

“We just spent however many millions of dollars on the replay system,” Belichick told reporters. “I mean, there are 1,000 cameras in every stadium, so if somebody spills a beer on somebody, we have it on record, right? Maybe we could have a bake sale to raise some money for the cameras. We could do a car wash.”

The NFL approved five safety enhancements, including medical timeouts, receiver protection and banning peel back blocks, chop blocks and pushing teammates at the line of scrimmage. The league also approved adding replay review for the game clock at the end of the half, game and overtime if more than one second remains.

The medical timeouts have been nicknamed the “Julian Edelman rule” by some, because the Patriots receiver was left in the Super Bowl despite looking disoriented after taking a big hit from Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. Now, a concussion spotter in the press box can directly contact the officials on the field to stop the game until the player has been attended to and escorted off the field.

The game and play clock will stop until the player is removed from the game. The player must remain out for one play if he passes concussion tests on the sideline.
