9:18 a.m.: Things are really getting interesting now in Philadelphia.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter — who broke the news just minutes ago that DeMarco Murray is expecting to sign with the Eagles — now says that move could affect another one of the Eagles’ offeseason decisions. Philly and running back Ryan Mathews came to terms on a contract, but as Schefter pointed out just now on Twitter, that deal hasn’t been signed yet.

That could ultimately mean Mathews changes his mind and backs out of the contract. The Eagles already have seen Frank Gore do the same this week, although for different reasons, as he eventually signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

[tweet https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/576009283168514048 align=’center’]

9:02 a.m.: DeMarco Murray is on his way to Philadelphia, and he’s expecting to become a member of the Eagles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

There are obviously more details on the way, and as Schefter says, the Cowboys will have a chance to match, but this potential move could signal a pretty significant shift in power in the NFC East, if and when the deal is finalized.

6:05 a.m.: Overnight, the Chicago Bears continued their busy offseason by finalizing deals with wide receiver Eddie Royal and safety Antrel Rolle, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

6 a.m.: Wednesday was another busy day in the NFL with a handful of the top free agents signing on the dotted lines with new teams.

Big-name offensive weapons like Julius Thomas (Jacksonville) and Andre Johnson (Indianapolis) made their final decisions while the New England Patriots bolstered their defense by reportedly signing outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard to a two-year contract.

There are still some dynamic players left on the market, though, arguably none of them better than running back DeMarco Murray. According to reports, a handful of team have expressed intersest in Murray. That includes Oakland, Jacksonville, Arizona and Dallas, according to reports. The one team really making a push is the Philadelphia Eagles, who will meet with the running back Thursday, according to NFL Media. Murray’s former team, the Cowboys, is still laying in the weeds and could make a run to re-sign Murray.

Other top names still on the market include: wide receiver Percy Harvin, defensive tackle Nick Fairley, defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, outside linebackers Derrick Morgan and Brian Orakpo and wide receiver Michael Crabtree.

We’ll be keeping an eye on those players and the rest of the free-agent pool as the NESN.com free agency live blog rolls into the third day. Be sure to check back throughout the day for the latest.
