The New England Patriots went on a free-agent signing frenzy Wednesday.

The Patriots signed wide receiver Kevin Dorsey, the team announced without disclosing terms. Dorsey was cut by the Green Bay Packers in February and reportedly worked out for the Patriots later in the month. The 6-foot-1, 207-pound wideout originally was a seventh-round draft pick by the Packers in 2013.

The Patriots also signed former Oakland Raiders cornerback Chimdi Chekwa to a one-year contract, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Wednesday. The Raiders didn’t tender a restricted free agent deal to Chekwa, who famously ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. The 6-foot, 190-pound corner was drafted in the fourth round by the Raiders.

Chekwa played just 89 snaps on defense in 2014. He’s an experienced special-teamer.

The Patriots also added pass rusher Jabaal Sheard on Wednesday. They re-signed wide receiver Brian Tyms earlier in the day.
