Pete Carroll was snooping around at the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix, and he wound up where he wasn’t supposed to be.

The Seattle Seahawks head coach, possibly still disoriented after being forced to sit next to Bill Belichick in Monday’s coaches picture, was out for a casual stroll when he wandered straight into ESPN analyst John Clayton’s live “SportsCenter” hit.

Yes, Pete, that’s a camera, and yes, it’s filming Clayton doing a live segment on the latest travails of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

To his credit, Clayton played it cool,  a far cry from how the legendary NFL reporter usually ends his segments.

To that end, Carroll offered his own explanation for the incident.
