The New England Patriots will have to keep looking for a replacement for Shane Vereen,
Running back Reggie Bush, who the Pats hosted on a free-agent visit Friday, has reached an agreement with the San Francisco 49ers, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Bush appeared to confirm the deal Saturday afternoon on Twitter.

The move will (sort of) be a homecoming for Bush, who went to USC and is a San Diego native. The 30-year-old had signed a four-year deal with the Detroit Lions in 2013 but was released in February after he struggled with injury this season. An ankle injury limited the Bush to just 297 yards on 76 carries in 11 games in 2014.
The terms of Bush’s contract were not immediately made available.
