Rob Ninkovich earned a pay raise.

The New England Patriots’ starting left defensive end was set to earn $2.45 million in 2015, and now his salary has been increased to $5 million with $4.5 million fully guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Caplan and Mike Reiss reported Wednesday.

Ninkovich was scheduled to pull in a $2.1 million base salary with a $250,000 roster bonus and $100,000 workout bonus. He had a $3.95 million salary cap hit.

It’s unclear what Ninkovich’s new cap hit will be or if it has increased or decreased.

The nine-year pro has started all 16 games for the past four seasons. He has recorded eight sacks in each of the last three seasons as the Patriots’ starting left defensive end. Ninkovich started at strong-side linebacker in 2011.
