Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork are two pillars of the New England Patriots’ most successful run. Their run as teammates, however, is over.

That tenure came to an end Monday when Wilfork agreed to sign with the Houston Texans just a week or so after the veteran defensive tackle learned he wasn’t going to have his option picked up by the Patriots.

Wilfork handled his departure with class and dignity, thanking the Patriots organization and its fans for the years of success and support. Wilfork alluded to Brady when speaking to ESPN.com, saying he was blessed to “play with one of the best quarterbacks that’s in the game.”

On Tuesday, it was Brady’s turn to return the favor. The Patriots quarterback posted this message to his Facebook page bidding adieu to Wilfork.

The Patriots are scheduled to visit Houston at some point in the 2015 season.
