The Boston Bruins nearly went into the second intermission of Sunday night’s game against the Washington Capitals trailing 3-0.

In the final seconds of the second period, Caps defenseman Mike Green fired a shot from the point that was blocked in front of the crease.

That’s when Capitals forward Jason Chimera tried to beat Rask with a backhand shot, but the B’s netminder made an excellent sprawling save to keep the puck out. Boston was able to clear the puck before Joel Ward or Nicklas Backstrom were able to pounce on it.

Rask was busy through the first two periods and made 27 saves on 29 shots in that span.
