Andrew Wiggins just put an impressive exclamation point on a very nice rookie season.
After Monday night, New Orleans Pelicans big man Omer Asik certainly can attest to that, as Wiggins put him on a poster with a highlight-reel dunk that’s among the best we’ve seen all season.
Wiggins, who’s played in all 81 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, rocked the rim with an incredibly athletic dunk over Asik on Monday night in the first quarter. Despite the 7-foot Asik having 4 inches on Wiggins, the University of Kansas product had no issue elevating over him for the slam.
Wiggins went on to score 15 points in the losing effort. He’s been a workhorse all season, averaging more than 36 minutes per game (42 minutes per contest over his last five) and has been productive, scoring almost 17 points per game.
