Apparently the Michigan State Spartans weren’t the only ones looking for a ring in Indianapolis.

The seventh-seeded Spartans, of course, were in town for Saturday’s Final Four matchup with No. 1 seed Duke at Lucas Oil Stadium. Plenty of fans were on hand to support Sparty, but basketball wasn’t exactly on one man’s mind during a live report from CBS Sports’ Allie LaForce.

Well, that’s awkward. Especially since LaForce recently married Los Angeles Angels pitcher Joe Smith. And the guy didn’t even have a ring to give her.

To no one’s surprise, LaForce didn’t say yes, admirably playing it cool before asking the CBS studio crew what they thought of the proposal ambush. Their response: “I think we should call your husband.”

The former Miss Teen USA winner certainly isn’t immune to being “complimented” on live television, as UCLA’s Tony Parker snuck in this one-liner earlier in the tournament.

It’s safe to say Parker was a bit more subtle.
