Pablo Sandoval In, Mike Napoli Out As Red Sox Tangle With Blue Jays

Pablo Sandoval won’t miss any time after leaving Monday’s game with an injury.

In fact, the Boston Red Sox third baseman is in the lineup on Tuesday as Boston hosts the Toronto Blue Jays in the second of a three-game series at Fenway Park.

Sandoval left the series opener with a sore neck after hurting himself while diving for a ball. Sandoval had one of his best games in a Red Sox uniform Monday night, hitting his second home run of the season and driving in three runs. The Panda appears to be regaining his offensive stride after hitting his first home run with the club Sunday in Baltimore. The third baseman has reached base in six of his last seven at-bats with the two homers and six RBIs.

While the news is good on Sandoval, the Red Sox will once again be without first baseman Mike Napoli. He missed Monday’s game due to illness and isn’t in the lineup to start things Tuesday night against the Blue Jays and Toronto starter Drew Hutchison. Daniel Nava will start at first base and bat sixth for the Sox.

The Red Sox send Clay Buchholz to the mound for his fifth start of the season. The right-hander is coming off an impressive start his last time out against the Tampa Bay Rays, striking out 10 over six innings and allowing just one run in a no decision.

Here are the lineups for both clubs.
