One of the top safeties in the 2015 NFL draft reportedly is set to visit the New England Patriots.

The Patriots will host Arizona State’s Damarious Randall on a pre-draft visit, FOX Sports’ Ross Jones reported Tuesday.

Randall is the No. 2-rated free safety and considered a second- or third-round draft pick by NFLDraftScout.com. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound prospect is one of the most athletic safeties in the 2015 class. He ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash, a 4.07-second short shuttle and a 6.83-second 3-cone drill. He also recorded a 38-inch vertical leap and broad-jumped 10 feet.

Randall amassed six interceptions, 12 passes defended and four forced fumbles in two years with the Sun Devils.

The Patriots locked up free safety Devin McCourty to a five-year, $47.5 million contract over the offseason. They extended starting strong safety Patrick Chung’s contract through 2017 during the season.

The Patriots also have safeties Duron Harmon, Tavon Wilson and Nate Ebner on their roster. Randall, like McCourty, also has experience playing cornerback, an area of greater need for the Patriots.
