The New England Patriots reportedly locked up both of their 2012 NFL Draft picks for the 2016 season.

The Patriots picked up defensive end Chandler Jones’ 2016 contract option, CBSSports.com’s Will Brinson reported Thursday. The Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe later confirmed the news.

The Patriots reportedly picked up linebacker Dont’a Hightower’s 2016 option Thursday night.

Jones was drafted 21st overall in the 2012 draft. The Patriots picked Hightower 25th overall the same offseason. The Patriots traded up for both players.

Jones’ option is worth $7.799 million, according to Howe.

Jones has played in 40 games over his three NFL seasons, starting 38 contests. He has 23.5 career sacks, six forced fumbles, seven passes defended and 103 tackles.
