Detroit Tigers fans, meet Yoenis Cespedes.

The 29-year-old left fielder made quite the first impression for his new team in the Tigers’ Opening Day matchup Monday with the Minnesota Twins at Comerica Park.

In the third inning, Twins batter Kurt Suzuki smacked a David Price offering deep to left field that appeared earmarked for the seats. But Cespedes tracked it down and made a leaping grab before crashing into the outfield fence.

The MLB season is less than 24 hours old, and we already have our first web gem. It deserves another look:

Cespedes’ impressive snag came just a half-inning after he singled and scored on an Alex Avila home run to give Detroit and early lead.

The Tigers expect big things from the Cuban slugger after acquiring him from the Boston Red Sox via trade this offseason. Making a highlight-reel catch isn’t the worst way to start.
