Avery Bradley said last fall that his goal for this season was to make the NBA All-Defensive team. He did not, and his Boston Celtics teammates are not happy.

Jared Sullinger and Isaiah Thomas sounded off Wednesday on Twitter after Bradley was not one of the 10 players voted to the All-Defensive first or second team.

“I think I should make the defensive team every year,” Bradley told MassLive.com last month. “I know I’m the best on-ball defender in the NBA.”

The NBA voters apparently disagreed. The Celtics guard garnered 26 total voting points and five first-team nods, placing him 14th on the final ballot.

San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard, the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year, was the leading vote-getter, garnering 116 first-place votes and 242 total points. Joining Leonard on the first team were Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen, Los Angeles Clipper center DeAndre Jordan and Clippers guard Chris Paul.

New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Warriors center Andrew Bogut, Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Spurs forward Tim Duncan made up the second team.

Rookie guard Marcus Smart was the only other Celtics player to receive consideration, garnering two second-team votes.
