Clay Buchholz Wins Amica Pitcher Of The Week

Clay Buchholz’s performance Friday night wasn’t quite enough to earn him a win, but it clearly was the best showing of any Boston Red Sox pitcher this week.

Buchholz tossed eight stellar innings in Boston’s 2-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners, allowing just one run on three hits. He struck out a season-high 11 without walking a single batter. For that, the right-hander takes home Amica Pitcher of the Week honors.

It was the second straight quality start for Buchholz, who has not exactly been the picture of consistency this season for the Red Sox. He boasts a 2-4 record with a 4.93 ERA in eight starts.
