David Ortiz’s frustration boiled over.

Ortiz, who went 0-for-4 and left seven men on base in Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park, was visibly upset in the sixth inning after flying out to right field with a runner on first.

Ortiz snapped his bat over his knee upon returning to the Red Sox’s dugout. It’s been that kind of season for Ortiz and the Red Sox, though Boston later broke through for an 8-3 win over the Halos.

Ortiz entered Sunday’s game against the Angels batting .233 with a .729 OPS. The slugger showed signs of breaking out during the Red Sox’s recent road trip, but those numbers obviously are very un-Papi-like, hence him taking out some anger on a piece of lumber.
