Mere mortals hit homers into the bleachers. Giancarlo Stanton hits them out of the park. Literally.
The Miami Marlins slugger entered Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with some monster blasts already under his belt this season. Stanton put all those to shame in the first inning, hitting a mammoth homer off pitcher Mike Bolsinger that, according to multiple reports, has yet to land.

Stanton’s massive swat traveled 478 feet, surpassing Alex Rodriguez’s 477-foot blast as the longest homer in the majors this season, and literally left Dodger Stadium.
Note the reaction — or lack thereof, of left fielder Scott Van Slyke, who didn’t move a muscle as the ball sailed into oblivion.
Yeah, you’re not catching that.
Stanton became just the fourth player ever to hit a ball out of Dodger Stadium, joining the elite ranks of Willie Stargell, Mike Piazza and Mark McGwire.
