Don Sweeney has been the Boston Bruins’ general manager for less than a day, but he’s already touring the Boston sports scene.

The B’s announced Sweeney will throw out the first pitch at Wednesday’s Boston Red Sox game against the Texas Rangers, which is scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m. ET at Fenway Park.

Before being named GM on Wednesday, Sweeney served nine seasons in the Bruins’ front office, including four years as assistant general manager. Sweeney also played for the B’s for 15 seasons beginning in 1988.
