FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots added another Alabama defender to their roster.
The Patriots drafted linebacker Xzavier Dickson with their 253rd and final pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. He was projected to be selected in the fourth or fifth round by NFLDraftScout.com.
Dickson ran a 4.74-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 7.56-second 3-cone drill and 4.53-second short shuttle. He recorded 19 reps on the bench press with a 29.5-inch vertical leap and 8-foot, 4-inch broad jump.
Dickson had 14 sacks in his four-year Alabama career with 91 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, three passes defended and one forced fumble.
