Malcom Brown was born and raised in Brenham, Texas, and played his college ball just down the road in Austin, so it’s not surprising the Patriots’ latest first-round draft pick isn’t exceptionally well-versed in New England culture.
There’s one thing the 21-year-old defensive lineman does know about Boston, though: Its basketball team.

Unfortunately for Brown, whom the Patriots selected Thursday with the 32nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, he missed out on basketball season by just a few days. The Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Celtics out of the NBA playoffs last Sunday.
