Patriots Release Linebacker Cameron Gordon, Opening Spot On Roster

The New England Patriots are making a flurry of roster moves Monday.

After reportedly releasing cornerback Chimdi Chekwa and signing linebacker Brandon Spikes, the Patriots waived Cameron Gordon, according to his agent, Brett Tessler.

Gordon spent the 2014 season on injured reserve after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan last spring.

Gordon’s release leaves just 89 players on the Patriots’ 90-man roster, so there could be another move coming later in the day. The Patriots are ramping up for organized team activities, which begin May 29.
