Bill Simmons still has a few months left on his contract, but you won’t be seeing him on any ESPN platforms during that time.

ESPN announced last week that it couldn’t come to terms with Simmons on a new contract, and the two sides would be parting ways. Now, Sports Illustrated reported Friday that Simmons won’t be making any more appearances — in print, on TV or on podcasts — for the duration of his contract. That goes for both ESPN’s main arm and Grantland, the ESPN-backed website Simmons created and runs.

This also means that there will be no sort of farewell column or podcast for Simmons, who had been at ESPN for more than a decade.

It’s unclear at this point whether ESPN will let Simmons out of his contract — which ends in September — in order to sign somewhere else. Both sides have been fairly tight-lipped on the matter, according to Sports Illustrated.
