New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the NFLPA filed paperwork Thursday to appeal his four-game suspension from the NFL.

Brady was suspended Monday after the Wells Report concluded he “was at least generally aware” that the team intentionally deflated footballs before last season’s AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Patriots released a rebuttal to the Wells Report titled “The Wells Report In Context” on Thursday. Many of the arguments it makes to disprove the conclusions explained in the Wells Report could be used by Brady and the players’ union during the appeal.

Brady reportedly hired well-respected lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to help his case. Kessler has been a thorn in the NFL’s side for years and has represented several pro football players, including New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma during the BountyGate scandal.

How many games do you think his suspension will be after the appeal process finishes? Vote in our poll below.
