Aaron Hernandez and his team of lawyers aren’t going down without a fight.

The former New England Patriots tight end’s defense team has filed four motions at the Bristol County Superior Courthouse, one of which called for a juror from Hernandez’s murder trial to be questioned, FOX 25 reported Monday.

According to FOX 25 legal analyst Brad Bailey, that motion — titled “Defense Motion for post verdict inquiry respecting a juror’s exposure to extraneous matters” — is evidence that Hernandez’s lawyers believe a juror was exposed to outside information that could have influenced the panel’s decision to convict Hernandez.

“These are experienced lawyers, they know the rules, they know the hurdles they have to reach,” Bailey told FOX 25. “Clearly there is something there or they wouldn’t be (filing these motions).”

Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder in April in the June 2013 death of Odin Lloyd. His lawyers appealed that ruling in mid-May.
