Buckle up, folks. The Summer of Gronk is shifting into high gear.

Rob Gronkowski is having an eventful offseason, as he always does, but the New England Patriots tight end might outdo himself on Father’s Day weekend. The entire Gronkowski clan will travel to Chicagoland Speedway on June 20 to serve as the co-grand marshals for a NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

But here’s the kicker: Gronk will drive the pace car.

Yes, someone is giving Rob Gronkowski the keys to a vehicle and letting him drive it around a race track. How do you feel about this opportunity, Rob?

“I’m stoked to spend Father’s Day weekend with my family at Chicagoland Speedway,” Gronkowski said in a statement. “Not only are we coming from all over the country to celebrate the best dad in the world, but I get the ultimate adrenaline rush of getting behind the wheel and driving the pace car to kick off the NASCAR race. My brothers and I get to say the most famous words in racing, and my dad gets to wave the green flag to start the race. It’s going to be an awesome weekend.”

As Gronk mentioned, his four brothers — Gordie Jr., Chris, Dan and Glenn — will say the famous “Drivers, start your engines!” command, while their father, Gordie Sr., will kick off the race with a wave of the green flag.

Sounds like a heck of a way to spend a Father’s Day weekend, but just remember, Gronk: You can’t spike a race car.
