LeBron James is on the verge of further cementing his legacy as one of the NBA’s all-time greats, which was the plan all along.

The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar and his team are just two games away from winning the NBA title, and there’s no questioning LeBron’s standing as the NBA’s best player right now. It probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but James always intended to be one of the best.

An interview with a 16-year-old James has been dug up, and it’s pretty remarkable to see how focused and driven he was, even as a sophomore in high school. The interview, conducted by now-ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, offers a peak into James’ mind at such a young age, and you can see how he’s been able to develop into the player he is today.
