Adam Lallana is familiar enough with James Milner to know his new teammate is fitting in well.

Lallana told LFCTour.com on Saturday Milner is adapting seamlessly to life at Liverpool F.C. Milner joined Liverpool from Manchester City on July 1 as a free agent, but Lallana already is feeling the veteran midfielder’s expected impact on the field and in the dressing room.

“I always knew that was going to be the case (that Milner would settle quickly),” Lallana said, according to LFCTour.com. “He’s fitted into the team like he’s been here for 10 years and I can see he’s really enjoying it. He’s enjoying playing with the lads.”

Milner scored the game-winning goal Friday in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over the Brisbane Roar in the second stop on the Reds’ 2015 preseason tour.

Lallana has played with Milner previously. They became teammates on England’s national team when Lallana debuted with the Three Lions in 2013 and played together at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The two since have crossed paths during national team stints in qualifying for the 2016 UEFA European Championships.

Milner said earlier this month how excited he was to begin his Liverpool career. Lallana’s insight shows Milner has backed his words with action in his first few weeks as a Red.
