When you go to YouTube and start to type in the name Tim Kurkjian, the first suggested search you’re offered is “Tim Kurkjian impression.”

That’s because it’s become “a thing” within Major League Baseball to attempt to impersonate the ESPN reporter’s high, sometimes crackling voice. The latest to try his hand is Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen.

With Kurkjian looking on, McCutchen did his best impression — and it was very good.

Again, McCutchen certainly isn’t the first player to do the Kurkjian. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Tim Dillard isn’t necessarily a household name. In fact, his claim to fame is his ability to do impressions, and his Kurkjian might be the gold standard.

When he was with the Texas Rangers, catcher J.P. Arencibia did his version.

Arencibia also had then-ESPN analyst Terry Francona in stitches with an “interview” as Kurkjian.

Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Elliot Johnson, then with the Tampa Bay Rays, broke out this spot with Kurkjian sitting right next to him.
