Are you ready for some football? New England Patriots fans certainly are.

The team officially opened training camp to the public Thursday morning, and if you think fans are any less supportive of the defending Super Bowl champs in light of the ongoing Deflategate investigation, well, you’d be wrong.

No, there wasn’t a pile of gold waiting for these rabid fans, many of whom arrived very early at the team’s Gillette Stadium practice facility to be ready when the gates opened just after 9 a.m. ET.

What did await, however, was a chance to see Tom Brady take the field. The Patriots quarterback has been through the wringer in the court of public opinion lately, but New England fans certainly appear to have his back.

A day at Patriots camp wouldn’t be complete without some sort of controversy, though. Shortly after practice began, a plane reportedly hired by a group New York Jets fans flew over the playing fields with a banner reading, “Cheaters Look Up!”
