Chances are pretty high that you and Josh Smith view $6.9 million very differently.

On Tuesday, Smith was introduced as the newest member of the Los Angeles Clippers at a press conference, during which he talked about his contract situation.

“At the end of the day, you know, I do have a family,” Smith said via David Whitley of the Orlando Sentinel. “So it is going to be a little harder on me this year. But I’m going to push through it, you know. … I made a decision for me and my family.”

Yes, he did say that.

Smith signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Clippers for the 2015-16 season. But he is also getting $5.4 million from a previous deal with the Detroit Pistons. So that brings his total earnings for the upcoming season up to $6.9 million.

It’s probably safe to say these comments won’t win over many fans.
