Mike Trout led off the Major League Baseball All-Star Game with an opposite-field home run for the American League on Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
The Los Angeles Angels outfielder was the first player to lead off an All-Star Game with a homer since Kansas City Royals outfielder Bo Jackson in 1989.

Even Bo knows that was a laser.
What’s more impressive, though, is that Trout now has hit for a very unique All-Star Game cycle. We’ll call it the “Mike Trout All-Star Game First At-Bat Cycle,” for short.
The 23-year-old already has participated in four All-Star Games, and in his first at-bat in each of the contests, he now has hit a single, a double, a triple and a homer.
