Rob Gronkowski doesn’t read much. Even when it comes to his own book.

The New England Patriots tight end recently appeared on a SiriusXM Town Hall event on Mad Dog Sports Radio to promote his new book, “It’s Good to be Gronk.” But when host Maria Menounos asked him if he actually read the book, which he co-wrote with agent Jason Rosenhaus, Gronk gave a very Gronk-like answer.

“About like 80 percent of it,” Gronkowski said. “I’m not going to lie about it. That’s what the book is — it’s all truthful in there. It’s not no sugarcoating or anything. It doesn’t make my image look good, it’s no false image in there. I ain’t going to lie either, I only read like 80 percent of it, but I know what better parts were and everything, what it’s all about. It was a quick deadline. I couldn’t get to it all.”

Gronkowski did say after the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX win that he hadn’t read a book since the ninth grade, so perhaps he simply was trying to keep the streak alive.
