Tom Brady Sold More Merchandise Than Any NFL Player During First Quarter

Tom Brady might not have many fans in the NFL league offices right now, but if merchandise sales say anything, he’s more popular than ever.

The NFL Players Association announced Thursday that merchandise for the New England Patriots quarterback outsold all NFL players from March 1 through May 31. Incredibly, it’s the first time Brady’s ever occupied the spot, according to the NFLPA. The list takes into account total sales of all officially licensed merchandise during the quarter.

This obviously comes at a very tenuous time for Brady. The four-time Super Bowl winner and reigning Super Bowl MVP is battling the league right now over a four-game suspension for his alleged role in Spygate. There’s been a groundswell of support for Brady among Patriots fans, which likely explains this jump.

San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick came in second, and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson finished third. In fact, quarterbacks took the top five spots, and seven of the top 10 were signal-callers.
