The final Grand Slam tennis tournament of 2015 begins Monday in New York, with U.S. Open matches from the men’s and women’s brackets on the Day 1 schedule.
The headline coming into the event is Serena Williams’ pursuit of a calendar Grand Slam, which no one has accomplished since Steffi Graf in 1988. Williams also is the three-time defending champion of this tournament.
Marin Cilic is the reigning champ on the men’s side. Defending his title won’t be easy, with Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and several other top-ranked players hungry to end the season with a Grand Slam victory.
